People Vs. Predators Association consist of individuals from all walks of life, who have come together with a common goal and interest; to advocate for victims, invoke change, ensure community safety, and/by raising community and public awareness regarding heinous child crimes and the release of their predators. PVP recognizes the issues within the judicial system, and together we will stand with victims and communities to petition and influence the changes necessary to improve those systems, in order to maintain public safety and restore confidence in the judicial system surrounding such offences.
Cheri Easton
People Vs Predators Association
Advocacy Director/Trustee/Board Director
This position involves acting in the best interest of the association to lobby, express and work with government bodies and the general public, to implement things that work to help the nonprofits mission. Be responsible for all accounts, overseeing all budgets, and providing financials to the board and the required government bodies. As well as, influence financial decisions, and help hold key members of the non profit accountable.
Cheri’s professional background consists of sales, bookkeeping and business management. While currently managing a locomotive servicing company, and a home based bookkeeping business, Cheri has also volunteered with Big Brother Big Sisters for 5+ years, working directly with underprivileged youth.
Recently engaged, Cheri’s fiancé also works in the locomotive industry and sits on the board of this Association. They plan to start their family, by adopting children shortly after getting married in 2022. Born in Alberta, Cheri was raised as a youth in Ontario, returning to Alberta as a young adult and have remained in Alberta ever since. Cheri values friendship, ambition and strength. Some hobbies and interests would include travel and antiquing. The one item that Cheri cannot live without, would be milk chocolate in any form.
Shannon Marie Smyth (aka Barbie)

Director of Projects & Philanthropy/Board Director
This position helps execute the mission statement and guides the non profit to achieve its charitable goals, including managing, planning and overseeing events and other elements helpful for raising funds. Also, being responsible for implementing and sticking to event budgets and charitable giving, as well as, be involved in the influence of financial decisions, and help hold key members of the non profit accountable.
Shannon’s background is in sales and marketing, and has worked in the beauty industry as a cosmetologist and hairstylist/barber for the past 12 + years. Shannon acted as Vice President of the Home and School Association at Chebucto Heights Elementary School for 1.5 years, only stepping down when her youngest son was born. Most recently Shannon enjoys working with her husband on the many music projects that they work on, which involves local live show promotion and event managing, as well as getting their children involved with volunteering locally, primarily feeding the needy with a couple of different local charities.
Born in Halifax, Shannon met her husband at 17, they have 2 boys and have been married for 10 years. The family moved to Alberta in 2014, their family loves being in the West and have no plans to leave Edmonton. Shannon values more than anything, her family, friends and creativity. Her hobbies and interests include writing music, recording and performing live (currently holds 2 time EMA nominations). The one thing Shannon could not live without is her family.
Cora Rockwell

Community Relations Director/Board Director
This position involves helping manage and oversee various projects, and helps build community outreach. As well as contribute to the influence of financial decisions, and help hold key members of the non profit accountable.
Cora worked in hospitality for 30 years, she was able to experience every aspect within this industry and thoroughly enjoyed the work that she did. Currently retired, Cora is raising 4 of her grandchildren, while being involved in as much community work as she possibly can. 7 years ago Cora started a group called Caring People Rock, this has kept Cora busy collecting food and clothing donations during spring and summer months to distribute during the fall and winter months to the less fortunate and homeless within Edmonton. Cora also volunteers with Fuel for Hunger during the winter months that they opperate, she has enjoyed working with this organization for the past 4 years.
Above all else, Cora values family, community, and life, stating that without her family, friends and community support life just isn’t fulfilling. Rather than hobbies and interests Cora has filled her life with the need and desire to help others, dedicating her entire life to helping people, she feels strongly about giving our youth a better future and advocating for our less fortunate.
Zachary A. J. Smyth (aka Lucky)

Marketing Director/Board Director
This position involves managing and overseeing social media, website, and graphics design. As well as, being involved in the influence of financial decisions and help hold key members of the non profit accountable.
Zach has a professional background in home construction, working as a floor installer, home builder, and home inspector. Aside from paying the bills, Zach has a real passion for music and works alongside his wife in the music industry. Zach has worked hard developing his production, audio engineering, and graphic design skills. While also working to promote shows/events and local artists, on top of managing events, Zach also incorporates his passion for photography in everything he does.
Zach has been with his wife Shannon for 21 years, with 2 boys together, they have always shown their children the importance of volunteering and giving back to the community and less fortunate. Zach volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for 12 years, on top of volunteering with many different organizations that work hard to feed and clothe the homeless. This family works together to help out wherever they can, and feel strongly about setting this example for their 2 boys. Zach and Shannon, among many other things, also share the same passion for this association and what it stands for. Zach values family, creativity and ambition, and any free time he has is spent working on something music related. The one thing that Zach cannot live without is the internet.
Mike Robert Meilleur
People Vs Predators Association

This position involves overseeing strategy as is relates to the non profit’s mission, influence financial decisions, and help hold key members of the non profit accountable.
Mike’s interest in mechanics early in life was sparked by his step father, he enrolled in college to complete his automotive mechanics course, shortly after entering the workforce Mike enlisted in the military and was transferred to Edmonton to become a heavy duty mechanic. During the 12 years that Mike served in the Canadian Military, he assisted in many natural disasters across Canada, including fires and floods, and did served one tour in Afganistan. Recently retired, Mike is now working in the private sector as a Locomotive Mechanic for a local company that serves Western Canada.
Mike was born and raised in Ottawa, ON. in a bilingual home and is our only board member who speaks French. Recently engaged to his fiancé that he met in Edmonton, Mike and Cheri look forward to settling down and starting a family of their own in the near future. Mikes hobbies and interests include riding his motorcycle, rebuilding bikes in his spare time, watching documentaries and anything relating to history. Mike values his family, loyalty and adventure. The one thing that Mike cannot live without is his tool box.
