What is a child safety kit?
A child safety kit can be essential to law enforcement should your child ever go missing. The kit records your child’s information and is stored somewhere safe by their parent or guardian.
(Information collected is given to and kept by the parent or guardian accompanying the child. PVP does not keep any record of information collected, nor is any information collected provided to any agency or authority)
*How does it work?
Your child’s information is recorded in the kit.
Parents/Guardians store the kit somewhere safe.
In the event that your child is ever reported missing, provide the kit to law enforcement immediately and help them find your child faster.
*What information is recorded in the kit?
-Child’s date of birth
-Child’s blood type (if known by parent/guardian)
-Child’s eye colour
-Child’s identifying features (scars, marks, glasses, braces, etc.)
-Child’s medical information (illnesses, allergies, medications, etc.)
-Child’s height and weight (height & weight collected onsite)
-Child’s fingerprints (fingerprints collected onsite)
-Child’s DNA sample (mouth swab collected onsite)
-Current photo of the child (photo’s taken onsite)
PVP is working towards getting our information booth into malls to distribute these kits to families across Alberta. Check our calendar for events happening here in Alberta (PVP Calendar Link)
